We are inspired to make edible art for your every occasion. We are a home-based custom designed sugar cookie business but don’t let that description fool you, we are constantly researching and developing new recipes to bring a variety of sweet treats your way.
Our Story……
Our story began a short time ago. In March of 2020 as we all know, the world was rocked by devastating pandemic. Owner, Baker, and Designer Shelley Gilleon was already running a home-based business building and designing websites for small businesses with small budgets. As you can imagine, with that clientele, work dissipated rather quickly and obtaining a website was last on the list of priorities for those who were faced with the possibility of losing their businesses. It was a scary time for sure and in an effort to stay busy and help friends and family feel some since of joy during such strained times, Shelley began to bake, but she also needed a creative outlet, as a photographer by trade, visual arts are a necessity to keep her grounded, so the natural thing to do was to use her baked goods as her canvas, thus, decorated sugar cookies emerged. After creating some fun uplifting designs and posting them on social media, the town Gulfport FL and city of St. Petersburg, FL were a buzz! People quickly began inquiring about placing orders. Within a matter of hours, the calendar was filling up and Calm Your Cookies was born. 2020 was an incredibly strange year, full of ups and downs, but faced with uncertainty for the future, Shelley turned a fun hobby into a thriving business and we are extremely excited to take everything we learned last year and make 2021 an even bigger success.
